Piedmont Triad Chapter

Platinum Award Winning Chapter

Piedmont Triad Chapter of APICS was chartered in October, 1970, and serves the Greensboro, Winston-Salem,  High Point, and surrounding area of North Carolina and south-central Virginia.   We are the largest chapter in Region XI (North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia) and one of the largest of 275 chapters in the US with more than 400 members representing over 90 companies.  We are proud to have over 100 of our current membership Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), 6 Certified at the Fellow level (CFPIM), more than 20 Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM), and more than a dozen Certified Supply Chain Professionals (CSCP).

We offer a variety of activities and educational opportunities to our membership and to any interested persons.  Our Professional Development Meetings, usually held on the second Monday of each month from September through May, feature excellent speakers and topics, good food and a chance to network and learn what other companies are doing.  We offer at least one seminar each year on a topic of current interest.  Our educational offerings are extensive.  We offer certification review courses (both CPIM and CSCP) as chapter courses, through local community colleges, and as in-company courses.  In addition, we offer the Fundamentals series of courses, which are designed to educate practitioners who may be relatively new to their field of work and are seeking a good educational foundation.

Our chapter benefits from an active and very strong Board of Directors whose membership over the years has been both enthusiastic and very capable.  Our Board is supported by an extensive Committee structure, all providing good opportunities to practice and hone business leadership skills.  Opportunities to serve on the Board or one of the Committees are available to any interested member.

Our chapter has achieved the Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting (C-BAR) Platinum Award, the highest level, every year since 1988.  Chapters are judged yearly on the quality of the chapter’s efforts to achieve excellence in chapter management  and can be recognized at  Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze award levels.  We continue to take pride in our vision statement, “The Piedmont Triad Chapter of APICS will be recognized as the foremost provider of education and knowledge in Operations Management by its stakeholders.”

APICS membership is open to any interested person, and we welcome visitors at any of our events.  If you would like any further information about our chapter, please e-mail:
